With only 1421 examples produced, the Cayman R is quite the rare breed. Maybe misunderstood by many due to its minimal visual changes but in fact those changes under the skin is what made the original 1967 R undoubtedly special.

The Cayman R was put on diet of a mere 55kg, dampers were spiced up, a limited slip differential (LSD) installed, and power bumped up due to a revised ECU map with a larger 55mm exhaust manifold. All this may sound too technical but trust us, this car is more than enough for anyone looking for outright “fun and low maintenance options around”.
